FF7 coming to PSN

Woot!

Easily one of the best games in history is finally coming to the PS3/PSP via PSN. Considering that the other PSX killer game Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is available for $10, I'd say they put FF7 for $15. Either way, I am getting it and will be playing it remotely on my PSP for when I am away from the room.

5/31 V's 3rd birthday

This was V's 3rd birthday party. It consisted of a jumper house, lots of food, cake (or tart) and a poor Pug.

Grilling, take 2

I tried to be more adventurous in grilling today. This time, prepared with bbq sauce, chicken, and meat stuff. It went off surprisingly well and delicious. Yumm. This could start to get expensive if I keep this up every week.

PS3 Remote Play

I just discovered remote play on the PS3 using the PSP. I was surprisingly very impressed and pleased. The graphics were stellar and there was no lag whatsoever.

Only down side was that not all games are compatible with remote play. The game that I tested was PixelJunk Monsters - woohoo Tower Defense on-the-go! Now I can get the trophies while at the mall waiting for the gf to shop! So on the PSP screen, you would see exactly what you see on the PS3 - the graphics (not in Hi-Def but very good quality), navigation and everything is the same as if you were on the PS3 itself. You can view your trophies, message your firneds and access the PSN Store, etc..

And besides gaming, you can use the PS3 to browse the internet and go on Hulu for TV on-the-go also. I haven't used the PSP's version to browse the internet in years so I don't know if it's the same or not.

And for these reasons, I will be getting the new PSP coming out this year (yes, I know something you don't :) )

Rant: California sucks

I would have never thought that Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont and Maine were all ahead of us in gay rights. I thought California was supposed to be a trendsetter for reformation - like the whole "Going Green" thing, polution tax, and the one that you would think CA would lead the way in is gay rights.

Today, I am embarassed to be Californian.

EA Active, very active

I just picked this game up over the weekend. Yes I have a Wii too. It just hasn't gotten much play since the PS3 has come in. I popped it in and gave it a whirl.

There are lots of excercises, like 30+, ranging from walking to boxing and lunges, each working on some particular muscle group. The sequence of excercises is nicely spread out so you are not constantly working on the same muscles. I only tried to "low" setting which I thought I would breeze through without breaking a sweat. It started off with a brisk walk, then picked up to running. Then a series squats, lunges, curls, stretches, and jumps, 16 excercises in all. The total elasped workout time was 22 minutes and I was toweling off my forehead about 5 minutes in on the 4th excercise.

It is pretty tricky and confusing at first because the way it detects your movement is the way the Wiimote and nunchuck is facing or moving. So you always have to remember to do it in the form that it tells you to, ie. Wiimote pointed forward and starting position and end with it pointing downwards.

My goal is to advanced to at least the medium setting before I get bored of it and give it to the gf.

Oh, also, I don't have WiiFit so I can't compare the two. But my opinion is that EA Active is more "active" whereas WiiFit is more stretchy-balancing.

5/25 Giants game on Memorial Day

Giants vs Braves on Memorial day. Awesome (near) front-row seats behind home plate. The home team won.

The one(s) I am interested in getting are:

Infamous - Great game! Everyone with a PS3 should get it. I didn't even like the free-world type games (like GTA, Godfather) and I really enjoyed this game. Plus, the trophies are easy to get and platinum will be easily obtainable. Great PS3 exclusive.
